Note: The painting is in good condition and has recently been cleaned by a conservator. In the artificial Ødammen in Frederiksborg Palace Gardens lies the somewhat mysterious and alluring island, Louises Ø. It is named after Louise Rasmussen, better known as Countess Danner. She had a sanctuary here. Perhaps it is Frederik VII who rows Countess Danner with their large dog, a Broholmer, over to the island?
